Police identify man shot and killed on Fifth Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police are investigating a homicide after a Rochester man was shot Wednesday morning.

Police responded to Fifth Street near Pennsylvania Avenue around 9:30 a.m. for shots fired. Officers found 35-year-old Zechariah Burnett was shot once in his upper torso. He was found on the ground outside.

The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officers say they have no suspects in custody at this point.
