Potentially dangerous infant ibuprofen sold at Walmart, CVS and Family Dollar

Several brands of infant liquid ibuprofen are being recalled because the products could contain higher concentrations of the drug.  

According to a news release from Tris Pharma, the recall affects 0.5 ounce bottles of "Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension" sold at CVS, Family Dollar and Walmart.

If you have any of the three recalled store brands of CVS Health, Family Wellness or Equate, you should throw them out immediately.

Tris Pharma said there is a "remote possibility'' the increased amount of ibuprofen could lead to permanent kidney injury in infants. Other side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tinnitus, headache and stomach bleeding.

Contact your healthcare provider if your baby has experienced any problems that may be related to using this product.
