ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— A warning for New York drivers, the fine for having anything blocking your license plate could go up by $100.
A bill that just passed the state Assembly would jump the maximum fine from $200 up to $300 dollars if the bill passes the Senate.
Lawmakers say the Thruway's new cashless tolling system needs need to be able to see our tags, police also use license plates to track down drivers in hit-and-runs.
The Senate is reviewing the bill.
