Record snow storm hit Rochester in 1996

On Jan. 3, 1996, Rochester saw 23 inches of snowfall. 

This was the highest snow total in a single day on record for this city. This caused all sorts of problems including a snow plow hitting a bus full of people.

No major injuries were reported in that accident, but there was minor injuries reported due to motor vehicle accidents in the storm.

All the schools were also closed in the area due to this relentless heavy snow.
