Red Wings stay hot, win 8th straight

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)- They are the hottest team in their league, as the Rochester Red Wings entered Tuesday night with a 7-game winning streak, their longest in two seasons.

Devin Smeltzer had 7 strikeouts in five innings of work,, while the offense came to play as well, with Nick Gordon hitting safely for the 9th straight game thanks to a laser of a home run to right field. Columbus, however, would come back on a Eric Haase home run.

However, an RBI late from Lamonte Wade Jr. and a home run from Willians Astudillo put the Red Wings ahead for good for the 4-3 win.

The Red Wings now have a 8-game winning streak- their longest in 13 years.
