ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Disgraced ex-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo planned to leave then Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul off the 2022 ticket if he ran for a fourth term, according to a report from the New York Post.

The post says Cuomo’s top aides contacted Hochul in January about plans to dump her. This was before his political career was unraveled by the sexual harassment scandal.

A person familiar with the exchange told the paper Cuomo’s team was concerned about diversity on the ticket. Hochul’s office declined to comment.

Hochul just recently received an endorsement to run for re-election as governor in 2022 by New York State Democratic Party Chair Jay Jacobs.
