ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Federal prosecutors are now investigating the Cuomo administration over an order that limited legal liability for nursing homes.
According to the Wall Street Journal, prosecutors have subpoenaed a range of information from the governor's office.
When the pandemic first started, nursing homes were included in a provision giving liability immunity to doctors, hospitals, and healthcare workers. It required gross negligence or intentional misconduct by the facilities to prove liability.
Prosecutors want to know why nursing homes were included In that. At the same time, the feds are also looking into the state's handling of nursing home deaths.
