The man charged with the deaths of an Orleans County mother and son is expected to take a plea deal.

Prosecutors and the defense attorney for 39-year-old David Wiley Jr. are working on a plea deal, according to The Daily News.

Wiley is charged with two counts of negligent homicide and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment in the deaths of 38-year-old Joan Gilman and 14-year-old Richard Gilman Jr.

They died of carbon monoxide poisoning in their home on Center Road in Kendall back in April.

Deputies say Wiley, who was a caretaker for the property, ran a generator in a closed garage under the victims' bedroom for more than 17 hours.

The power had been shut off for unpaid bills.

Wiley is set to appear in Kendall Town Court in January.
