(WHEC) — There's some relief coming for RG&E and NYSEG customers this year.
According to our partners at the Messenger Post, the companies will be capping their rate increases for both electric and natural gas delivery for the next three years.
Any rate hikes on delivery costs will have to stay under 2% through April 2023.
The state Public Service Commission staff and utility representatives came to that agreement with the public service commission this week.
An original proposal had the rates increasing by 13%. That plan was cut due to the coronavirus pandemic.
