ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Riga man pleaded guilty Wednesday to six charges after causing a deadly crash in Parma earlier this year.
Matthew Magar, 31, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, aggravated DWI, DWI with a BAC of .08 or more, DWI, and second-degree reckless endangerment.
On Jan. 7 around noon, deputies say Magar blew through a stop sign at the intersection of Clarkson-Parma Townline Road and Parma Center Road at a speed between 90 and 105 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. Magar hit a vehicle driven by Dilek Ogut.
A blood test showed Magar's blood alcohol content was .34%.
Ogut, 41, of Greece, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Magar will be sentenced to 7 and 1/3 to 22 years behind bars on June 26.
