Rochester CSD interim superintendent collapses in meeting

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- The interim superintendent for the Rochester City School District collapsed during a meeting with principals on Monday afternoon. 

According to Rochester Teachers Association President Adam Urbanski, Dan Lowengard was transported to Strong Hospital.

He is in satisfactory condition. 

The board appointed Lowengard as interim superintendent after Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams retired this past January. 

Lowengard was previously appointed interim superintendent in 2016, after Bolgen Vargas resigned. However, Lowengard only held the position for four days before he had a stroke and collapsed during a meeting with teachers.
