ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Ambulance companies across the U.S say they are in desperate need of more federal funding to fight the pandemic.

In a letter obtained exclusively by NBC News earlier this month, the American Ambulance Association told the Department of Health and Human Services that emergency medical systems across the country are at a "breaking point.

News10NBC's Lynette Adam spoke with Mark Philippy, the chair of the state and regional EMS Council and the operations manager for AMR, and Ahmed Mustafa, who runs Northeast Quadrant Advanced Life Support and Webster EMS. Both men are paramedics as well.
