ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — One of the most prominent real estate developers in the Rochester area and western New York is facing more legal issues.
Bob Morgan is now being sued by a lender in Rochester, according to the Buffalo News.
The lawsuit claims Morgan failed to pay Monroe Capital more than $9 million in loans. The suit was filed in Monroe County Supreme Court last week.
Back in May, Morgan was indicted on 45 counts including charges of conspiracy to commit wire and bank fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors allege he and others connected to Morgan Management falsified and inflated construction contracts to get better deals.
Last month, Robert Knuts, Esq. of New York City-based Sher Tremonte LLP, was appointed a receiver for assets including Morgan Acquisitions.
Morgan is not due back in federal court until April 2020.
