Rochester man arrested after traffic stop reveals marijuana and cocaine

A 23-year-old Rochester man was arrested on Friday when a Livingston County Sheriff's Deputy discovered marijuana, cocaine and other devices in his vehicle.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, Alexander A. Beddia had been stopped by a deputy after he committed a vehicle and traffic law violation on the interstate. The deputy smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle, and investigation discovered not just marijuana but also crack cocaine, smoking devices, and a digital scale.

Beddia was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. He was turned over to central booking at the Livingston County Jail before later being arraigned. The judge remanded Beddia to the Sheriff's Office on $250 cash bail or $500 bond.
