GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — As you know, News10NBC launched a campaign called #BeNicer.  It's an effort to combat cyberbullying. We're asking everyone to be a little more kind with what they post on social media.

Since we launched this campaign last month, more and more of you are joining the cause. That includes one of the largest health care systems in our area, Rochester Regional Health.

"I think it's amazing. I think that everyone should think about being nicer. We do not know what people are going through, what challenges people face," said Connie Pearce whose job includes being nicer everyday.

She's a nurse navigator at Unity Hospital. Her job is to make sure patients, who are dealing with all sorts of problems, are happy and comfortable while in their care.

Pearce joined her Rochester Regional Health team members to create a video supporting the #BeNicer campaign.

It's something they all immediately wanted to get behind. Here, they realize the message of being nicer is important, not only on the worldwide web but in everyday life.

"For everyone here at Unity, that really has to be our underlying goal. No matter what position, no mater where you are in this facility, we want to create a positive environment and that's really important to us." Pearce said.

It's a message we're driving home as kids head back to school!

Starting next week, look for #BeNicer teams on local school campuses.

Volunteers from News10NBC and Lyons National Bank will hand out #BeNicer wristbands to students as they head back to the classroom.

As we've said, words matter. They can either build someone up or tear them down.
