RPO concerts back on for February

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) is returning to performing live in February.

The orchestra postponed its January concerts because of fear over rising COVID cases.

The lineup has a lot to be excited about.

“Don Quixote” will be on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. at Kodak Hall in Eastman Theatre.

The Pops series will continue on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18 and Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. in Kodak Hall with “Happy Birthday, John Williams!”. It will include scores from “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, “Jaws”, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, and “Star Wars”.

The second OrKIDStra concert of the season is “Pirates! The Quest for Blackbeard’s Treasure” scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at Hochstein Performance Hall.

The rescheduled 2022 kick-off concert, “Andreas Conducts Beethoven” is set for Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. in Kodak Hall.

RPO requires all guests ages 12 and up to show proof that they are fully vaccinated and show photo ID. All guests are also required to wear a mask at all times, throughout the duration of the performance.

RPO warned it’s in the process of reevaluating its COVID protocols and will announce changes prior to any February concerts.
