Ally, a certified therapy dog joined them.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and Ally greeted the kids and delivered gifts.

Director of Golisano Autism Center Renee Zonder said Ally’s presence was a way to help the students cope with the unexpected situation.

"Certified therapy animals are a great tool for individuals who maybe are extra anxious or just looking for ways to connect with other people and through animals and it's a great tool," Zonder said.

The Golisano Autism Center opened in September.
