ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — School reopening plans are due to the New York State Department of Education by the end of the day Friday.
Several school districts in the Rochester area have already released blueprints of what their classrooms could look like this fall. Most are considering variations of hybrid learning, which would mean both in-person and remote learning for students.
Meanwhile, district leaders still don't know if schools will be allowed to reopen in September.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he would approve school reopenings if the community infection rate is under 5%. The Finger Lakes Region is currently at .6%.
Cuomo will make a decision about schools reopening the week of Aug 3.
