The search for a missing 14-month-old boy continued on a farm in Sodus after the State Police canceled the Amber Alert for the toddler Tuesday morning.

Owen Hidalgo-Calderon has been missing since May 16. His mother, 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon, was found dead on a farm where she worked in Sodus.

Alberto Reyes charged in connection with the death of Selena. He is charged with tampering with evidence, but investigators say they expect to file more charges against Reyes once they determine exactly how Selena was killed.

Reyes has been behind bars since last week after Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says he admitted to hiding Selena's body in the woods but claims he is not the one who killed her.

Sheriff Virts tells News10NBC he believes this will be a recovery effort, not a rescue but they remain committed to finding the boy.

"Again, it's my hope that Owen is alive, but we have to run two parallel investigations," Sheriff Virts says. "It is my hope again that he is alive. but we also need to know that he's a 14-month-old toddler. To sustain life by himself would be very difficult."

ICE says Reyes is in the United States illegally from Mexico and has been deported twice before in 2016 and 2017.
