A state senator is pushing back against Governor Cuomo's executive order to allow New Yorkers on parole to vote.
Republican Senator Rich Funke started a petition against it.
Funke says allowing people who have committed a violent crime to have their voting right restored sends the wrong message and bad behavior has consequences.
On Monday Cuomo issued a conditional pardon to more than 24,000 parolees, allowing them to vote.
