While much along party lines, here are where politicians strayed from their political party's majority (or did not vote) in Friday night’s Senate vote to avoid a federal government shutdown:

Republicans:

  • Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake voted NO
  • Arizona Sen. John McCain DID NOT VOTE (due to his health)
  • Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell voted NO
  • Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul voted NO
  • South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham voted NO
  • Utah Sen. Mike Lee voted NO

Democrats:

  • Alabama Sen. Doug Jones voted YES
  • Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly voted YES
  • Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill voted YES
  • North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp voted YES
  • West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin voted YES

All other Republican Senators not listed here voted YES for the shutdown prevention measure. All other Democratic Senators not listed here voted NO for the shutdown prevention measure.
