ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — The Small Business Council of Rochester took in more than 3,000 Thanksgiving food boxes on Friday.

Businesses from the area put boxes together, including News10NBC. The boxes will be given to local families in need.

Jamie Crosley, of the Small Business Council of Rochester, said it was rewarding to see it all come together.

"It's the best part,” Crosley said. “You know we've been working hard to get the donors this is our day putting it all together and seeing it all come to fruition you know everyone here loading the trucks, many hands make light work. It's the best part of the fundraiser."

Each food box contains a variety of food, from apple sauce to canned vegetables and dessert mix, along with a $25 gift card to a local grocery store.
