VICTOR, N.Y. (WHEC) — We've documented the recent successes of The Perfect Granola in the past. The Victor-based company has seen meteoric growth in the past year.

Now, the company is partnering with Foodlink to produce a new product while helping to expand Foodlink's workforce development training program.

"We could have rented our own space, bought our own building, but to partner with Foodlink really just means everything to us," said The Perfect Granola founder Michele Liddle. "Because we're mission first, we wanted to make sure we did it in a way that was consistent with our core values and putting our mission in the community first."

Liddle created The Perfect Granola with a mission of sharing her profits and products with food pantries and homeless shelters. Within two years, her granola bars and bags were in major grocery chains.

In February, she convinced the nation's largest retailer, Walmart, to carry her products.

Wednesday’s announcement is in line with Liddle's mission of helping those in need. By partnering with Foodlink, The Perfect Granola is expanding the organization's career training program, providing three new full-time jobs, and creating a new revenue stream for the local food bank.

"The long-term goal is that this grows so much that it needs additional lines and it's a huge volume and across New York State that the number of employees that we hire, or Perfect Granola hires just continues to increase," said Foodlink COO Terra Keller.

A full production line will churn out one-ounce pouches of a new, allergy-free granola from a custom-built clean room facility within Foodlink. The Perfect Granola is now the first grown and certified ready-to-eat grain producer in New York State.

Liddle says if successful, they hope to duplicate this pilot program in other Feeding America food banks.

"Nothing is ever done alone, so if we're able to build this company for the community and the community is supporting us, it just builds a really strong sustainable company," Liddle said.

The Perfect Granola has been a partner with Foodlink on the donation side since its beginning, donating more than 3,000 pounds of product to the food bank.
