GENEVA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A man previously features on Small Business Spotlight for his company, The Solar Home Factory, has a new project.
On Tuesday night, Ryan Wallace unveiled his plans for a solar village in the Town of Geneva to the Geneva Town Board.
It would be near the community center, and phase one would include 180 attached townhomes that are so energy efficient, there is no cost for them to have heat or electricity.
The second phase calls for 39 single-family modular homes.
The project would cost $20 million.
Back in June, when the project was still in its planning phases, Wallace told News10NBC about it.
"There's an exciting potential here to whereas we scale, we could be building entire developments with apartment buildings and homes,” Wallace said. “The entire village is net-zero, so the net over the whole year is zero energy use from the grid."
The project still needs to be approved by the town, but Wallace is hoping to break ground in March.
