The man charged with burying the body of his then girlfriend, Selena Hidalgo-Calderon, is now being charged with murder.

A Wayne County grand jury indicted 26-year-old Alberto Reyes on two counts of murder in the second degree and one count of tampering with physical evidence.

Reyes is accused of killing Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her 14-month-old son, Owen Hidalgo-Calderon. He is also accused of burying Selena's body.

Reyes had admitted to having buried Selena, but did not admit to killing her.

Selena and Owen went missing back in May. The two were last seen on a Sodus farm off of Joy Road where Selena worked.

A week after the two vanished, deputies found Selena's body buried on the farm. Human remains believed to be missing 14-month-old Owen were found at the farm in October.

The DA and Wayne County Sheriffs are holding a press conference this afternoon to talk about the double murder.

Investigators always believed Alberto Reyes, the only suspect ever arrested in this case, had something to do with the killings.
He wasn't charged with murder until now.

Reyes remains in the Wayne County Jail without bail.

He is expected back in court on Jan. 15, 2019 to answer the charges.
