The Wayne County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant in the case of Judith Geurin over the weekend. News10NBC investigative reporter Jennifer Lewke received exclusive details in the case Monday evening.

Judith Guerin and her husband raised 5 children in the Albany area but when he passed away expectedly, she had trouble coping.

Guerin moved to Sodus Point with a man named Curtis Pucci where she started drinking and bouncing checks.

News10NBC talked with her daughter, Amy Kusaywa, Monday who said that after about a year Judith was remorseful for leaving her family.

During their last phone call, Amy told her mother that she was welcome to come home but she never heard from her again.

Jennifer Lewke: "Amy, what do you believe happened to your mom?"

Amy Kusaywa:  "I believe my mother was preyed upon by a predator who has a history of violence and a history of criminal behavior and I believe the money ran out from my father's life insurance money that she got and that predator no longer needed her."

Over the weekend, sheriff's deputies searched the woods behind the mobile home that the two shared nearly three decades ago.

Acting on a tip, cadaver dogs were brought in.

"My own personal belief is that my mother came to a violent end somewhere in that vicinity in 1991 and I believe her remains are somewhere in that area," stated Kusaywa.

The sheriff says he doesn't want to compromise the department's investigative efforts so this is all he'll say about the case:

"The investigators and the deputies are doing their due-diligence and keeping after this until we find Ms. Guerin or find her whereabouts."

"What we would ultimately like to do is have some part of her remains that we could lay to rest with our father," stated Kusaywa. "Then we would feel as though our mother was at peace."

News10NBC tried reach out to Curtis Pucci, who lived with Judith, but he did not return any phone calls.

He has not been charged with any crime in connection to this case but Judith's daughter did reach out to him when he was in prison for another crime asking him for any information he may have.
