Teen charged with murder, manslaughter in connection with suspicious deaths

CLARKSVILLE, N.Y. (WHEC) — A teen is facing murder and manslaughter charges in connection with two suspicious deaths following a house fire in Allegany County.

State police arrested and charged 17-year-old William J. Larson Jr. of Clarksville with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree manslaughter.

Firefighters responded to the fire around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Courtney Hollow Road in the town of Clarksville. Fire crews found at least two bodies after getting the flames under control.

According to investigators, Larson was spotted on scene while the fire was being extinguished but left before investigators arrived. A trooper on patrol located Larson Thursday afternoon on a nearby street.

Our Buffalo affiliate reports that according to the criminal complaint, both victims were shot with a rifle on Nov. 5, 16 days before the bodies were found.

Police said Larson lived at the home with his parents, who haven't been located. Troopers still haven't identified the victims.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released. Autopsies for both victims are scheduled to place Friday in Monroe County.

Larson was arraigned and taken to the Erie County Youth Services Center. He's being held on $50,000 cash bail/$100,000 bond. 
The incident remains under investigation.
