COLESVILLE, N.Y. (WHEC)— A New York State trooper Thursday was released from the hospital just a day after police say a Broome County man shot her while she responded to a call.

In a Facebook post, State Police could be seen greeting Trooper Becky Seager as she left an area hospital in a wheelchair.

Troopers say she was shot in the hip by Jason Johnson Wednesday night while she was working with Broome County sheriff’s deputies to check on the welfare of a person in Colesville, about a dozen miles east of Binghamton,

Johnson ran from police and sparked a manhunt. He was later caught by police Thursday.
