Livingston County Suicide Task Force announces suicide awareness events

The Livingston County Suicide Task Force announces upcoming events for suicide awareness. 

There will be a veterans' suicide awareness training on Aug. 30 at the Emergency Management Building at 3360 Gypsy Lane in Mt. Morris.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will consist of the Department of Veterans Affairs “Operation Save”, the Livingston County Suicide Prevention Task Force local resources presentation, alternative treatment options for veterans, and eligibility for VA Mental Health benefits. 

Those interested in registering for the training should contact the Livingston County Veterans Service Agency at (585) 243-7960 or click here to register online.

There will also be a candlelight vigil on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m at 4612 Millenium Dr

The vigil will be to remember those lost due to suicide. The event will include a speaker and a reflection of hope and lighting of candles. It will be open to the public.
