Jim Boeheim discusses deadly crash: 'It's a terrible thing'

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim is speaking out for the first time since he was involved in a deadly crash in February. 

According to the NBC affiliate in Syracuse, the October 2019 issue of Esquire magazine features an eight-page article.

Boeheim was driving down I-690 East when he hit and killed 51-year-old Jorge Jimenez, who was near a disabled car in the middle of the road.

In the interview, Boeheim said "it's a terrible thing" that happened and "there's no way to talk about it or explain it."

He also added that he grew up in a funeral home and is "different than most people."

No charges were filed against Boeheim.
