The "Taste of Rochester" food festival will return for the first time since 2010, with a festival scheduled for June 8 and 9 at Capelli Sports Stadium.
According to a press release, the original festival ran from 2008 to 2010 on Main Street in Downtown Rochester, before going on hiatus over parking and overcrowding concerns. The festival featured food, craft beer, wine, music, and other products created and based in Rochester. The 2018 festival already has half of its vendor capacity filled, and will be adding a Kids Fun Zone.
It is not yet known how the festival will be affected by the ongoing saga between the City of Rochester and Rochester Rhinos co-owners David and Wendy Dworkin. The Dworkins have been ordered to vacate the stadium because they will not be fielding a Rhinos team in 2018 in what the City says is a violation of the team's lease.
