The first TV ads from opponents of a state constitutional convention have hit the airwaves.
The backers: a wide coalition of more than 100 groups called New Yorkers against Corruption.
"If passed, paid delegates will hire their friends and family and use alternative facts to change the rules for everything," the commercial states.
The constitutional convention is proposal one on the November ballot. If you vote "yes," delegates will be chosen during next year's general election. Voters would then have the ability to approve or deny any changes..
The convention itself would be in 2019.
