BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — Tesla is going on a hiring spree across Western New York.
The company needs employees for the SolarCity facility in Buffalo that involved nearly $1B of your tax dollars.
Under the contract with the state, Tesla needs to employ at least 1,460 employees by April 30.
According to our Buffalo affiliate, the company currently has about 1,100 workers.
If Tesla fails to meet the requirement, it will be required to pay the state $41M.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he plans on visiting the plant to meet with employees in April.
