A third arrest has been made in the case of a double murder in Sodus. The latest suspect is a Texas police officer.
Texas authorities arrested 34-year-old Bron Bohlar, a police officer in Sunray, Texas, on Tuesday for a warrant issued in Wayne County.
The complaint alleges that Bohlar was part of the conspiracy that led to the shooting deaths of Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn at their Sodus home on Oct. 22.
Bohlar is being held in Texas without bail on the charge of conspiracy in the second-degree, pending extradition proceedings to Wayne County.
Wayne County Sheriff's Office charged Charlene Childers, 25, and her husband Timothy Dean, 32, in connection to the murders of Niles and Washburn.
Court documents reveal Childers and Dean talked about killing Niles several times and she helped Dean rent the car he used to drive from Texas to New York.
Dean served as a police chief in Sunray until May of this year when he resigned following child abuse charges. Dean remains in a Texas jail on injury to a child charges.
Wayne County District Attorney Mike Calarco says Dean is facing murder, conspiracy, and weapons charges in relation to the double homicide in Sodus.
As for Childers, she remains in the Wayne County Jail on conspiracy and weapons charges. The weapons charge stems from a 9mm pistol she was caught with in Palmyra. She is due in court Thursday.
Sheriff’s detectives and Texas law enforcement officials continue to investigate the double homicide.
