ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A tractor-trailer driver is injured and traffic on I-490 eastbound near Clinton Avenue was at a near standstill during the evening commute after a crash Tuesday afternoon.

New York State Police say a tractor-trailer wasn't able to negotiate a curve and rolled over and blocked three lanes of traffic.

State Police told drivers to avoid the area as traffic over the Frederick-Douglass/Susan B. Anthony Bridge slowed to a near standstill during the evening commute.

As of 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, all lanes had reopened to traffic.

Trooper Mark O'Donnell said it was not going to be a quick clean-up.

"Right now, we have three out of four lanes blocked, we're trying to do the best we can to get the tractor-trailer removed," O'Donnell said. "We have some big pieces of apparatus trying to tip it back on its wheels to get it out of here."

Troopers say the driver's injuries are non-life-threatening, but he was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Witnesses told troopers they believe the truck driver may have been cut off.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
