By Oct. 1, 2020, New Yorkers flying in the U.S. will be required to have a REAL ID, an enhanced driver's license or a passport, and officials are urging you to upgrade now.

"There's information at all of our branches as well so when you come in, you're now going to have a choice to make and the staff there will be able to walk you through what your choices are...if you're looking for a standard ID, a REAL ID or an enhanced ID," Bello said.
