Investigators said the car was traveling east when it hit a deer, swerved left and crossed both lanes of traffic before going over a guard rail and down an embankment. Deputies said it then rolled into the creek. The car was submerged in five to six feet of water.

The driver, 21-year-old Brooke Allen, from Lyndonville, and 20-year-old Richard Forder, from Albion, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies and state police continue to investigate.
