ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- The United Way of Greater Rochester launched its 2020 campaign Thursday morning at the Strasenburgh Planetarium.
Zweigle's CEO Julie Camardo was named this year's campaign chair.
The United Way hopes to build on the more than 53,000 people who contributed to its campaign last year.
The goal of this year's campaign is to launch the community into a brighter future.
"It is no mission that we can't achieve together," Jaime Saunders, the President and CEO of the United Way of Greater Rochester said. "We are coming together in our workplaces, individual donors, and this community steps up year after year. We need them again, and we are looking forward to it."
The United Way of Greater Rochester raised $34.4 million last year.
