The region's main U.S. Post Office on Jefferson Road is expanding its hours for those cards and presents.
It'll be open next Sunday and Sunday the 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Over the holiday season the postal service is expecting to deliver more than 10 million packages in western New York this season and anything going out to a military or international address must go out within the next few days.
The deadline for retail ground is next Friday; for priority mail, it's the 20th but that's more expensive.
The U.S. Postal Service is also bringing on more workers for the rush.
"We hire about 500 seasonal employees throughout the greater Rochester area," said U.S. Postal Services Karen Mazurkiewicz. "We will have some help in different places but really they will be the elves inside Santa's workshop this year, trying to get all the packages started to the right place so the carriers can deliver them to the final address."
The postal service says be sure to have your packages ready to go when you get to the post office, including having them all taped up with the right zip code which you can look up on the post office website.
They also say be prepared to see the mailman out earlier in the morning or later in the evening and if there's any snow, please clear the way to your mailbox and your porch.
