(WHEC) — If or when you get your COVID-19 vaccine, you may want to think twice about posting a picture of your vaccine card.

Consumer advocates say taking selfies with your vaccine card and posting them online can make you a target for identity theft.

It doesn't take much information for a scammer to steal your identity. All scammers need is your name and birthdate, which are shown on the card.

With your ID and tax season in full swing, scammers can use that information to claim your tax refunds.

According to the Better Business Bureau, scammers are also using the vaccine pictures to create fake vaccination cards that can be sold online.
