ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- A passionate Mayor Lovely Warren on WCNY's The Capitol Pressroom told host Susan Arbetter why the state should take over the Rochester City School District.

News10NBC's Jennifer Mobilia listened to the, at times, heated interview to hear what the mayor had to say.

Arbetter: "Do you think that's part of the problem? There's been so much turmoil."

Mayor: "Exactly, and I'm asking why are we trying to protect the system that has caused for six superintendents in six years. Who can operate in that type of environment where you don't know if the next day the superintendent is going to be there or not because of who he is reporting to or she is reporting to? You have no idea what is happening here in our community what I'm saying is remove the politics from it."

News10NBC reached out to the state Senate and Assembly education committees to see if anything has been submitted regarding this proposal.

The Assembly said nothing has been submitted to them. News10NBC is still waiting for a response from the Senate.
