BATH, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Steuben County Sheriff's Office urges the public to watch out for a growing trend of "knock-off" infant and small children car seats.

"Knock-off" car seats are typicaly sold online and are often made up of flimsy plastic, with plastic buckles and missing parts. 


According to National Reports, these car seats do not come with a registration cards or owners manual.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Department provides regular car seat safety checks. The next saftey check takes place Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 200th Steuben County Fair.
