A Wayne County man has been arrested after he falsely claimed he had had his car and wallet stolen, when in fact he had simply crashed his car.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Michael N. Mack of Huron called the 911 line around 9:41 a.m. on Friday and said he had been robbed at gunpoint in Sodus. According to Mack's report, two men had approached him and pointed a gun at him, and then stole both his wallet and his vehicle.
