FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) — Sunday is looking beautiful with lots of sun and temperatures in the mid-70s, so it'll be a perfect day to stomp on grapes at the 24th annual Purple Foot Festival at Casa Larga Vineyards.

There will be hay rides, food trucks, vendors, and of course wine-tasting. And, yes, you can even stomp grapes.

The event started out due to people asking workers at Casa Larga whether they made the wine by stomping on the grapes. Andrea Colaruotolo says that so many people asked that they eventually decided to have some fun and make a joke out of it, allowing visitors to come in and stomp their own grapes.

While that isn't how they actually make wine at Casa Larga, but one day a year it provides some fun for people of all ages: kids stomping grapes, and parents sipping wine!

The Purple Foot Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Casa Larga Vineyards at 2287 Turk Hill Road in Fairport. For more information, check out their website
