FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) -- A Webster woman is facing animal cruelty charges after Humane Society officers say she neglected an injured dog.

Taletha Shaw, 45, was arrested Monday.

Lollypop Farm says they were notified after a rescue group brought Elsa, the 10-week-old Shar-Poo, to the vet. The dog's eye was bulging from the eye socket and had to be removed because it hadn't been immediately treated.

Shaw is charged with failing to provide proper sustenance and neglect (veterinary care). She is expected to appear in Webster Town Court on Feb. 20.

Lollypop Farm says Elsa is with a foster family and is doing well.
