Niles and his girlfriend, Amber Washburn, were shot and killed outside their home in Sodus back in October.

Prosecutors say Childer's husband, Timothy Dean, pulled the trigger. Dean is a former police chief from Sunray, Texas.

Another Sunray police officer is also charged in connection the case. Bron Bohlar rented the car Dean used to drive from Texas to New York to carry out the murders, according to prosecutors.

Childers, Dean, and Bohlar are all being held in Wayne County Jail.

Childers is due in Wayne County Court for a status hearing at 10 a.m. Thursday.
