ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — One woman was killed and two others were hurt in a crash involving a vehicle and a horse and buggy in Yates County.

Deputies responded to State Route 364, west of Voak Road, around 4 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies said 55-year-old Robert Clark of Dundee hit the horse and buggy traveling west on State Route 364.

The passenger in the buggy, 67-year-old Ada Horning, of Penn Yan, was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. Mahlon Horning, 66, was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Nanci Clark, a 53-year-old woman from Dundee, the passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Geneva for non-life-threatening injuries.

The horse had to be euthanized, deputies said.

Deputies ticketed Robert Clark for following too closely and failure to use due caution while approaching a horse and buggy. More charges are possible, deputies said.
