COLUMBIA, Md. (WHEC) -- Woodstock 50 tickets will be free.
That's what the venue operator says.
Last week, News10NBC told you the festival was moving to Merriweather Post Pavilion, in Columbia, Maryland. The venue should be able to accommodate about 32,000.
It remains slated to take place Aug.16 through the 18.
According to TMZ, the venue operator says he doesn't know who's playing.
According to Billboard, representatives for the festival and co-founder Michael Lang emailed talent agents that they would not try to enforce performance contracts for the event. The letter to talent agents explained that artists were still invited to play at the festival, but were not legally obligated to show up.
It was also announced last week that the rap king, Jay-Z and John Fogerty, who performed at the original 1969 festival with Creedence Clearwater Revival, pulled out of the troubled event.
TMZ reports the event is being billed as a benefit concert and attendees are encouraged to donate to charity.
