BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — After all the legal drama surrounding the Far West Regional Game, it was finally played Tuesday night.

McQuaid was looking to advance to the states, but it was Bennett that came out firing.

The Tigers took a 20-0 lead into the half and only extended it after the teams came out of the locker rooms, with the Knights only making two touchdowns.

In the end, they fall 26-14 and close the books on the 2021 season.

Though it didn’t end the way they hoped, head coach Bobby Bates said he is proud of his team for making it this far in what was the first normal season for his guys in two years.

"I’m proud of our kids’ resiliency, I’m proud of the way they just battle through games," Bates said. "We were in a lot of tough battles throughout the whole season and our kids responded really well in a lot of different situations. We’ve faced a lot of adversity all year long and I think they’ve overcome a lot of adversity so I’m really proud of our team."
