ROCHESTER, NY (WHEC) - After falling in the Class B. Title game in 2019, Canandaigua Boys Lacrosse didn't have a chance to redeem themselves the next year due to COVID cancelations.

Last year, a great season ended in heartbreak when they lost in the championship game again. Last week, they exorcised those demons when they beat Irondequoit in the Class. B championship. Now, the road continues now.

After taking down Hamburg in the Regionals, they'll move a step closer to a state title: the semifinals tomorrow night against 3-seed West Genesee. If they are to win that, the Braves off to Hofstra University for a chance at the ultimate crown. Though they're mostly unfamiliar with the opponent in front of them, that's a non-issue.

"I'm more focused on on our own film," said head coach Devon York. "So, yeah, that'll be the focus."

"You know, there's not huge adjustments since really just go out and, you know, do your type of play," senior Eric Platten added.

"There's like one day or two days to prepare for a team," senior Jaxon Grant said. "So you just got to go out and play honestly."

The Braves and Wildcats face off at 5:30pm from SUNY Cortland. The winner will play either Garden City or Rye.
